The Kehlsteinhaus -
the Eagles Nest (1,834 m)
Even the road from Obersalzberg to the Kehlsteinhausparkplatz is an engineering marvel. So, too, is the tunnel carved through the rock massif, which then leads up via an elevator to the historic building. The unique panoramic view, stretching up to 200 kilometers, reveals the full expanse of the Berchtesgaden region to visitors.
Berchtesgaden Salt Mine
This isn't a trip up the mountain—it's a trip into the mountain! A hidden world awaits discovery. Dressed as a miner in a typical jumpsuit, the tour begins underground. Highlights of the tour include the miner’s slide and the ride across the underground salt lake.
Schellenberger Ice Cave
At an elevation of 1,570 meters lies Germany’s only ice cave open to the public. The lighting in the cave creates a very special atmosphere for visitors. Because the ice changes over the years, every visit to the cave is a new experience.
Predigtstuhl Cable Car
A nostalgic ride up Bad Reichenhall’s local mountain. The Predigtstuhlbahn is the world’s oldest (built in 1928) large-cabin cable car that has been preserved in its original condition, and it still offers its passengers a breathtaking view of Bad Reichenhall and the surrounding Alpine landscape.
Salzburg, the City of Mozart
The city’s picturesque squares and narrow alleys invite you to linger. The best view of the entire city is probably from the fortress hill, where the Hohensalzburg Fortress towers high above. The city is also known for its famous musician and composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg is considered both his birthplace and the place where he worked.
Chiemsee
Bavaria’s largest lake—also known as the “Bavarian Sea”—offers one of the most unique backdrops, framed by the Bavarian Alps. A visit to the two islands is particularly popular among vacationers. Take a boat to Herreninsel, where the “Fairy-Tale King” Ludwig II once lived in his royal palace. The tour continues to Fraueninsel, where the Benedictine monastery and the small fishing village invite you to make a stop along the way.
Königsee - Sankt Bartholomä
Surrounded by the beautiful mountain landscape of Berchtesgaden, the emerald-green Königssee glistens. The ensemble of mountains, lake, and the Baroque Church of St. Bartholomew is considered one of the most popular subjects for photographers from all over the world. A visit is only possible via the boats of the Königssee fleet.
Alte Saline - Bad Reichenhall
In 1834, the Alte Saline, an imposing brick building, was constructed in Bad Reichenhall and is now considered an industrial monument. Today, salt is mined here exclusively for spa and health purposes and for demonstration purposes. In addition to the Salt Museum, visitors can examine the mining technology in the basement.

House of the Mountains
The House of the Mountains is an information and education center in Berchtesgaden. Here, visitors can explore the entire range from the shores of Lake Königssee to the summit of the Watzmann. The combination of an educational center, an information center, and the outdoor grounds is designed to let visitors experience the fascination of nature with all their senses.
Grassl Gentian Distillery
These unique mountain specialties are still distilled today using traditional distilling methods and in accordance with strict guidelines. The journey from the gentian root to the famous Grassl Mountain Gentian Schnapps requires a great deal of effort and work. A visit is well worth it.
Lokwelt Freilassing
150 years of railroad history brought together on 17 tracks, featuring valuable exhibits from the collections of the German Museum Transportation Center. The new locomotive simulator is considered one of the highlights; whether young or old, everyone can step into the role of a train engineer here.
